Ian I ordered a carb repair kit from them, it was only $24.95, but they quoted me $51 to send it so I declined.............

that\'s the problem with importing stuff from the US. I was going to buy a 1st gen glass sunroof from Colorado a few months back and the seller quoted me $80 shipping, not too bad I thought, until he took it to the post office and found that they wanted $430 to send it.
Sadly, I had to bale out of the deal.
100 dollars for the roof panel, $430 to send it to me!

The catalogue is still worth getting though. I know it\'s available online but it isn\'t the same is it?!
The expanded diagrams are great to suss out what you need then get it from somewhere closer to home if need be.
It\'s useful to me rebuilding my project car.
And the best part is....IT\'S FREE!!!!

Sent for my free \'Fall\' edition Ian..... Thanks for the heads up. As you say the expanded diagrams will be invaluable and you never know, maybe massive shipping costs will be the only way for some items in the future?

I think that\'s very true Dave, there are hardly any 1st gens left over here but as they sold 400,000 in the US, the demand for spares is higher and so spares availability is higher.
When I used to restore Triumph Spitfires, there were quite a few dealers importing rust free california cars and doing a right hand drive conversion on them, then selling them on.

I reckon is a few years time when there are non left for spares over here, we should all put together to hire a shipping container and fill it with 1st gens from California or Florida.
I dibs first space to stick in a nice GSL-SE!

No I DIBS first space..............,but it might be a good idear to but some spares in bulk between us to cut down on costs of shipping.

Spares will be reasonable in uk for another 5 > 7 years with all the scrappers around, after that parts from abroad are likely.
Mazdatrix are also very good with their prices & availability, ordered off em a few times, phils rotaries & fast fours in OZ has loads of genuine parts[even 1st gen cills],but their pricey for parts & shipping.
Ian you should relax, after your project is finished you need to put your feet up,i\'ll go to california/florida to save you the hassle,my needs are meagre,a six star hotel & endless grub & booze, all paid for & i will go & see a few 1st gens.
Very charitable of me,i know,i\'ve always been modest.
Ta stu..
