The extra tubing will probably be the air pump hoses that attach to some aftermarket filters. A lot of people take the air pumps out due the the amount of space they take up if they are running a larger turbo, or just want more space.

The air pumps are for emissions, you can get kits that keep the air pumps, perhaps post up on the wanted section for an induction kit? Try and find some Apexi twin cones :)

The purpose of the air pump is for emission control as I understand it pumps air into the catalytic converter to help reduce the level of some chemicals, So if you still have the OEM catalytic converter then you have to keep, but running without (decat) you can remove, however it requires a blanking kit, which DM motor sports on here sells, good piece of kit at great price.

Just make sure that the car is decatted if you take out the air pumps, it pumps airs into the exhaust as well as supplying cooler air to the cats to stop them imploding due to the heat of the exhaust!
