Title: Low fuel + full throttle = stutter or something else??
Post by: hazza_ek on January 25, 2010, 04:22:02 PM
hi this is the first time this has happened to me but i was coming home from work and nearly at my house when i come to a junction. theres nothing coming so i pull away fine in first a bit harder in 2nd and full throttle in 3rd. about 4-5k into third the car stuttered, back fired and lost power for a second so i let off accelerator and it was ok in half throttle from then. got into my drive and it was idling fine and boost was normal.

i have very little fuel in my car so could of it been down to that?? ow and i was going uphill if that makes any differance??

thanks

In short yes bud - quite likely to be the case..... be careful next time when you know you\'re a bit low on fuel! ;)

EEEK lol you should never run it lower than about 1/4 to 1/3 due to fuel starvation plus the fuel pump will suck in all the muck and rubbish at the bottom of the tank!
