well i have a power fc fitted to my FD and i wanted to know, if the ecu has had no power supply for a long time, will it lose its map?

mine has had the power off since october reconnected the battery today fired up first time pfc has kept the map and display setting on the commander

I think it should be fine for 2yrs without any power bud, i think it\'s called a dynamic memory or something.

is there a certain section on there to put it back to a basemap at all, ie if you have bought a second hand one

hey lee,

you need the hand commander to reset to base map (or datalogit). it\'s not a physical button the on the pfc to reset to base map.

yeh cheers liam, thats why i typed section, as i assumed its somewhere on the hand controller, but wasnt sure where as i wanted to set it before i started the car so i know where i stand,  just checked and its left toyko, im like a kid at xmas, ill prob drive around all evening looking at the commander

Haha that\'s exactly what I did when I got mine! mind you it\'s also what I was doing this morning - scared stupid that my water temps were going to jump up and kill the engine. luckily that didn\'t happen!

I know what you with the water temp its scary when you get stuck in traffic and watch it going up and up hoping that the fans kick in and bring down. Lucky they do and you can watch it coming down as well.

Yep and even better when you get it mapped etc and the get the fans told to come in a few degrees lower, think mines @ 86.... ;)
