Hi
Clutch pedal down to the floor - unless I have a leak or a burst pipe it\'s probably the slave cylinder...
Anyone have an idea how much a new one is and how much a second hand is?
I have to look at the mathematics of it, I can have it done
locally and pay for a new part or have the car transported by RAC, pay around
£100 for the transportation but pay only for a second hand one
(Powergainsmotorsport)

about 60 for a new one. or 30 for a second hand one i imagine. have u lost all ur brake fluid
Depends how quick you want it, can get one in the States for about $40 - just google \'Rx7 clutch slave cylinder\' - AFAIK should be the same for LHD and RHD.
I need one too, probably going to order from the US
Or maybe not, the site I found wants the same again for delivery to the UK!
Had another google and you can buy a rebuild kit for it for about £15, go to be the best option? I\'m going to do my master and slave at the same time now!

Thanks for that
Yes all is gone, pedal on the floor...I have to get a flat bed from RAC to take me to a local garage or pay £100 and take me to Powergains in Romford ( outside of 10 miles radius )
It might be just a pipe busted like around 2 months ago, just nor sure whether to take it to specialist or to a local garage ( i know them well, they seem decent and have done breaks and other simple jobs on my car )
What do you all think? Pay the money or local garage?

Thanks for that, tbh I need the car so if it is the slave then Kerim at powergains has them in stock (second hand) btw is the above part available at normal mazda dealers or I am going to wait days for it if I take the car to a local garage?

Hello Michael,
Buy some brake fluid and pump the brake pedal with somebody watching under the bonnet to see if the fluid is either coming from somewhere at the back, top of the engine near the bulkhead or dripping out from the front of the gear box onto the floor
If its under the bonnet it will be the flexible clutch hose or if its coming from under the car then this is either the slave cylinder or the clutch arm that has become detached from the pressure plate letting the slave cylinder piston fall out, however if this has happened than you will have a funny noise when you start the car as the clutch are will be hitting the pressure plate as it spins,
Hope this helps

Thanks for that, its gone dark now and frankly tomorrow morning I will transport the car to a garage.
Clive, how long and big is the job if it is the clutch slave cylinder? Is the new part easy to get or am I going to wait for the part for days on end? I have a 96 FD
