Title: Overfenders
Post by: m1tch on January 03, 2010, 09:47:29 PM
Hi everyone, I know that the AE86 overfenders fit the FC:

I might be needing some bolt on wide arches to fit my large rears under the arches for clearance if I need to space them off the shocks etc.

I am just wondering where I can get some universal overfenders, I am not getting a full bodykit as I took 3 months to find the OEM turbo II lip splitter and I have the only Eibo sleek spoiler fitted to my car in the UK lol

I am going for subtle body mods, they won\'t be blended though, just pop riveted on and painted, I am going to try and keep it looking OEM just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that sell overfenders :)

I guess I need to try and find a good supplier if I need the wider arches to fit the wheels and tyres, they MIGHT fit ok without any mods, which is what I would rather as then I can keep the stock appearance, but just need to research into it :)

I got a full set staring me in the face right now waiting for me to fit them... and find some wheels wide enough to take them... I got them off Gary at Japsalon; 0118 934 5334

£140 i think but he made them from scratch for me

+1 on the pics, although I might be able to fit them as they fit on an FD with no mods, even though they run a 265 rear tyre.

Like I said, I haven\'t put them on yet so all I have is this...

thats only 1, there are 4 and they will need trimming etc to suit what style you want, they are pretty solid.

i had some like that and no way could i get them to trim up and fit, the frount wings have a very sharp angel on them, i spent two years and alot of money looking for the perfect ones for a fc, i ended up getting ones that were made to fit a fc only,i think i bought about 5 sets of overfenders before i got the perfect fit,

Would it be easier to just get the arches rolled slightly? Or maybe notched, bent and then new metal added and blended?

is it just two you are looking for m1tch, i bought two from ebay a year or so ago, they are a perfect fit for the rear, if you are not lowering your car to low, they fit perfect, (http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd257/fc3s/Picture069.jpg)

OOO :) yeah I might be dropping just 40mm, depends how the rims sit in the arches really, I think this weekend I will \'adjust\' my exhaust heat shield with a dremel and see if the rears clear the arches ok.

Which seller/how much were those? are they for an FC?

Where from and how much? May be worth investing in some that fit perfectly rather than try and trim those

I wonder if replikit would want to copy those? seems to be quite a demand just on this thread! Its not like its a full kit either!

(http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd257/fc3s/T2A.jpg) ye may no the car, these are the ones i got for my car now, i have much wider rims on the frount of my fc, and my car is a good bit lower, as ya can see they have a angle in them to fit the line of the fc, they are for a fc only, very rare,

i got them from a lad that had them on a skyline, i paid 55 pounds for them, two only, they look great on my fc,very well made i must say, compaired to some of the .... i bought, they are about 45 to 50 mm wide,
do ya want to buy them

I\'ve got some rivet on flaired arches and some bolt on front fenders and some rear overfenders. The arches would fit but will need some slight bending like most uni ones on The fc. Fronts are narrower than the backs too.  Tbh I can\'t belive you can\'t fit your wheels, just look at beezy\'s old car.

Also over fenders and wide front arches look epic on stock bodied fc\'s with a lip :)

Might be an idea to get in contact with replikit and see if they can make copies of it, I don\'t have that much cash at the moment - just bought a T88 lol but I am interested, but wouldn\'t they look odd just on the rears and not the front?

That\'s what I was thinking, unless you can find two more, keep those ones stored until needed... which would be cheaper than buying a complete set of 4.

I have no idea why they are so rare... what people have already said, just the amount of interest on here seems like a worthwhile investment... somebody emailed replikit with the link to this thread yet?

I have PMed replikit, seems that there is a gap in the market, its not like people don\'t want them, its just that you can\'t physically find them which is why you don\'t see them on cars!

Flatout - is there a name or makers mark on those?

Sign up (it\'s an awesome forum, possibly my favourite of all the one\'s I\'m a member of) and pm asking them for the dimensions.

The only problem you\'ll have is the kink in the panel, as shown by the pic of the purple car. This depends on how you mount it, and how you mount it.

I suspect you\'ll have you use a little bit of heat to help bend it slightly, then rivet it in place.

you might stuggle to get decent wheel fitment with these. As i remember that purple car was stupidly low, the exhuast was a couple of inches or so from the ground. If you look at the fenders it looks like it could go sooo muxh lower too

Dude, those were FC specific arches, so they have to be mounted on that kink.

I reckon that the universal ones could be mounted below that (I\'s sure there\'s enough space) in which case the arch gap would look much smaller because they\'re lower on the body.

Post by: dthebuk on January 07, 2010, 01:49:01 PM
oh i didnt mean the fenders could go lower, i mean the ride height of the car as the wheel fitment doesn\'t look very special.

and just to show uni arches can be done

the guy had a thread on rx7club.com showing how it was done, cant find it though
