Hi everyone, this is off a widebody FC3S, its mentally wide, but I am in need of this sort of bonnet, should I just make one or does anyone know where I can get one?

I think the bonnet\'s Amemiya isn\'t it? Those wings look a lot like the style of the Trial ones for the NSX
as above.. re type has the centre bit but the bits on the corner looks retro fit.
I am getting an EGI bonnet soon, I am going to try and lighten it up a bit and will probably try and cut those louvers into the bonnet as I am going for a flat mounted IC like they do on the MR2s :) means I can run with much less pipework to reduce lag, although probably just idling the T88 will probably push out enough air to pressurise the IC hehe
Is there anywhere I can get a decent louvered bonnet?

Are they any good?

Hahaha! No idea! There was a time when you couldn\'t find a M*x Power feature car that didn\'t feature their handiwork, and they\'ve been around a long time, so I guess that might count for some sorta recommendation. They cut louvres into your bonnet to your own specification, what can go wrong! It seems a good alternative to trying to find a hen\'s teeth old skool Amemiya bonnet at any acceptable price

I think I might have to go the custom route I guess.
I know the EGI bonnet is quite heavy, has anyone tried to modify one to make it lighter?
I am thinking of trying to cut out some of the supporting struts underneeth it, or try and separate the top heavy skin from the supporting struts underneeth, anyone tried it?
Wont it sag in the middle if you remove them completely? Don\'t get me wrong I like your thinking but you may have to reinforce it somehow.
My Dad used to have a kitcar that had a SS louvered bonnet. It used to flex up and down all the time when driving. It also used to lift up and hover at higher speeds due to the shape of the louvers. You could actually drive it by looking underneather the bonnet and out through the front! The engine was nice and cold though!

Im thinking of getting a EGI bonnet and then using a dremal cut the steel out between the supports underneeth leaving me with a nice triangulated bonnet, and then perhaps lay CF or fibreglass over it, and from your dads experiance maybe bonnet pins, but im guessing that kit car one was 100% fibreglass?
It had 2 leather straps (a bit like heavy duty belts) holding it down. It was made of stainless steel.
Your gonna have to post pic\'s up if you do this. I reckon it\'l look the nuts from the sound of it.

Im going to be going for a subtle, functional bonnet, my car is all go and no show, thats my plan anyhow :)
I am planning to run the turbo under the bonnet, unless it won\'t fit for best flow, in which case I will have to \'unfortunatly\' run it though a slot in the bonnet like this T88:

Some EGI\'s had aluminium bonnets, so its worth asking around at the specialists :)

Hmm interesting :D if its aluminium instead of the lead/depleted uranium ones like the coupe has then its all good lol :D
Is that cool louvres in Alton? If so a friend of mine who used to build show cars used them a fair bit and you couldn\'t fault they\'re workmanship one bit. This is going back 4-5 years now though.
