Title: Which battery for fmic
Post by: mukumu kurubushi on January 03, 2010, 05:32:49 PM
Hi chaps, hope you all had a good christmas & new year!

Just wondering what brand/type of battery people recommend for going front-mount? mine is probably going to get in the way of the hard pipes, so I need a smaller one.

Thanks :)

Put the battery in the boot :) easier lol its what im doing for my intercooler setup, also look into running the saxo EPSP to free up more space for pipework and to have less bends.

Id get it re-located or shell out for an Optima. My battery is still in the front but due the FMIC its really small and i think recommend for a Micra. Its a Varta which is better than my last one but is still flat if i leave it longer than a week without use.

i had one which was about 1cm thinner than normal, plus there was no lip on the base of the battery so the pipe fitted.
theres pics on one of my threads..

Thanks guys.

What exactlys involved in re-locating? Wasn\'t sure if it was a bit tricky, plus im not the most electrically-minded person!

Thanks for the tip on the p/s pump too! My pipework should just about squeeze past it, but its good to know there\'s that option just in case :Thumbs-up

2gauge wire better if you use 0 gauge. 100amp fuse and circuit breaker optional but recommended. batter box.

Run it as if you were wiring a sub :) the trim is fairly easy to get up down the sides, only about 5 screws, ive taken it up loads to get to the ECU lol
