Title: Secondary Turbo intermittently not working
Post by: teddyruckspin on January 03, 2010, 04:50:14 PM
I am having an intermittent problem with the second turbo. After driving in any gear on full throttle to the red line (all functioning correctly) and change up a gear there is a very obviously flat spot. The secondary turbo is not functioning after the gear change, I have checked hoses and pipes and checked plenty of threads on forums but nothing seems to be helping! Could anyone please shed some light on my frustrating problem?

Many Thanks in advance

I\'ve got the same problem. I have changed all pipes in rats nest etc but still got the problem. Somebody said it could be the charge relief valve. This is the part that looks like the standard Bov. Have not cheanged this part yet.

THeres a black boxx on the top of the engine with 2 small hoses going into it. Start the engine and take one of the hoses off (dont matter which). If you dont hear a release of pressure, then either the box is leaking or the green one way check valve on one of the hoses leading into it is leaking air back the other way.

It might be the boost solinoid, its a common issure with the FDs, there is a thread of boost solinoid issues, or you can also get rid of this problem by bolting on a single turbo :rollin

Sounds like a nice car, sounds like a sticking solenoid. There is a vid on how to test them somewhere.  Problem is there are quite allot.
