Title: gauge sandwich plate
Post by: Jovic82 on December 30, 2009, 03:08:02 PM
hi guys,

i just bought a sandwich plate adapter from r spec to fit my new gauges and just wondered if anyone else has has the problem that you cnt get the oil filter back on after it is fitted! it pushes it up by about 1/2 inch and there is a screw directly above the filter which is in the way.

cheers
nick

Hi Nick!
I had a sandwich plate, I remember it was quite tight for room, but got it on though!

Is it a screw on the throttle body?

Haha, I had this problem with my Greddy sandwich plate, and had to *ahem* massage the top of the oil filter with a mallet to get it under the TB gubbins. I even bought a remote oil filter relocation kit, and then realised there are two sizes of oil filter that\'ll fit on the RX-7.....bought the small one since, and it fits fine :o

In think Halfrauds might be the problem. I think they may only stock the larger one cos it probably fits more cars, and its close enough so it saves them stocking a whole load of different filters no-ones likely to buy. I get mine from a local motor factor delivery place, they\'re Blue Point ones who specialise in OE replica stuff for Jap cars and that, and they\'re also cheaper. Winner! :Giggle
