hi, had my fd for a year now, its a street ported single turbo with a pfc.
ever since ive had it the heat light flickers on and off normally when the revs are dropping after some hard acceleration. i took the car to be mapped at wgt about six months ago and still exactly the same so i thought it must be nothing to worry about!
the last few times i\'ve driven the car its on more often sometimes flashing on and off at around 5 second intervals! all the temps and pressures look to be fine, i have no commander so i cant check some things.
should i be concerned?
thanks in advance
tom
It will be the knock alarm mate, the standard knock sensor is useless. If pip has mapped your car then you have nothing to worry about, pip advised me just to turn off the warning function on the commander if it was getting on my tits lol.
nice one, thanks! i can stop worrying!

My cars mapped by Pip , single turbo ect and i have just had the same. What i found out is i put £30 of sainsburys fuel in and the light started to come on on high boost put shell in as i always do and its not come on at all, even when its been thrashed. So to me its the fuel.
sounds like the poor quality fuel is making the engine detonate (knock) when it shouldnt. i would advise against using it as it could cause your engine to pop. The knock light flashes for a reason and id say should never be ignored, if it flashes take it to someone who can find the route cause. Ignoring it or turning it off wont help.
mine sometimes flickers on and off when the cars driven hard, i\'m sure ive heard that different flash sequences when using a pfc means different things. i think the flickering is knock related but mine now sometimes flashes like 5 seconds on 5 seconds off when driving slow or stationary ticking over! i was worried that oil metering pump was packing up and i should start to premix a bit?
3 quick flashes is the knock warning, slightly longer flashes is the injector duty warning IIRC
It sounds like it\'s your knock warning though. The knock sensor is sh!t, my dump valve sets mine off!! Bits of dust under the microphone, loose connection, exhaust noise can all set it off as knock.
