Does anyone know if there are repair panels available for the 1st gen or if these panels from Bashers (Stephen Brookes) are still available?

Hi Ian.
Last person I noted getting and fitting comprehensive rear arch and sill body sections was billc on here.
I\'ll PM him, but if that fails I have his email address so I\'ll then email outside the forum and draw his attention to your search. Following that he might post.
Dave.
Thanks for that David
He did have an active ebay store last time I looked !

Hi All, ( got a heads up from david on this post)
I fitted the rear sill repair section to my 84 gen 1. i think it was Steven brooks I got the section from. Had to wait about 3 weeks to get the section ( I think he had to make one up)and it was........OK. I found a sill section from Mazda for £85 from europe but took stephens rear section instead as I thoufht it would be quicker. I thought it was expensive for what it was and the curved section at the bottom was a bit flat. It needed a bit of work to make it fit. my wheel arches were OK so did not buy the wheel arch repair section. My sills were rotton, I made my own repair sections for the sill and welded them on myself. There was no inner wheel arch repair sections for the base where it meets the rear of the sill and the repair panel, so made my own again. Spent too much time welding!! Ian if you post me a mail address I will send you pics of my repairs.
Cheers
Bill

I really appreciate your opinions on the panels you used and how you repaired your car.
Body restoration advice for 1st gens is thin on the ground!
The more info I can get, the better.
cheers,
Ian
I might be better off cutting the sections I need from a breaker, may be easier to weld up using factory panels, even if 2nd hand....decisions...decisions....
There is a company that advertises in Practical Classics that was selling fiberglass wings...which I can\'t find in the current issue.
Redundant post I guess, but dammit, I\'m going to post anyway! :Giggle
Clicky here and scroll down to the (funny this)mazda section

Yeh, what a load of work he\'s making for me as well.....into the Scrappers, now out of the scrappers into the Resto pile. Phew, I\'m bushed.
I wondered what the repair metal was for.

It\'s like a game, somewhere on the web,Ian sets up a website & gets more Rex\'s,but leaves us little clues how to get there.
Remember his 1st website you & i found Dave, had to sniff around for that!:Typing

Yes, Stu, and it\'s a right treasure house in this latest site. I know what to expect when my vicious fan fails now though!

I\'ve been keeping an eye on that one, wonder if they will take £500 for it
I wonder if it is the immobiliser or a compression problem.
Worth a try at £500, a lot of fun for that sort of money if its an easy fix.
Thats what I was thinking..........
