Title: Interior Heating/Aircon help
Post by: Sidzrx on December 03, 2009, 04:36:19 PM
The heater blowers and aircon seems to have stopped working on my FD, The blowers would not come on, and when I pressed the AC button that wouldn\'t come on either (orange light didn\'t come on as well).
Obviously with the weather getting colder I am unable to defog the windscreen and it\'s ruddy freezing, I\'ve checked the fuses under the dash and all are ok, I don\'t know where to look next. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Cheers.

im wondering if its anything like a 200sx, they have a fan resistor card, its up under the dash and its what controls the fan they have a habbit of corroding and breaking meaning you either get no fan or fan only on number 4...

however im not sure if rx7\'s have the same?

I did sort this in the end, and I feel a bit of a prat about the whole thing. When I investigated further my power connection had come unplugged from the motor, because the clip on the connector had broken. The motor is in the passenger footwell, I just plugged back in and all was sorted. Hope yours is something similar.

well,from memory....

Remove the passenger side trim in the footwell on the left ( 2 pop in clips and a screw in the kick sill )

unbolt the ECU and move it out the way for better acess (3 bolts)

unclip the electrical connection coming out of the \'dome\' (black connector)

there are 4 screws that hold it in, you may need to move some wires out of the way to get better access to them. 3 of the screws are pretty straight forward, the awkward one is in the far back corner, which if your quite a burley chap like me was abit of a nightmare to get undone! use a stubby phillips to get this one out.

and it should just fall out!
