This is a new carb that I think has been sitting in someones garage for years, I don\'t think there can be another anywhere............

Has it got a date of manufacture on it,it might be older.
As far as i know engines & ancillaries were produced in Hiroshima,does the carb glow in the dark?

Thanks I know its a one off, but I\'m sure I\'ll get more pleasure driving the car than looking at the carb............just got the old carb off and its started raining, lets hope its not for to long............Yes I know I should be doing it in thr garage, but that\'s full of bits and old scooters............

OK carb now fitted, and it started straight away, they must set up these in the factory as its idle and tickover were spot on, changed both axle and gearbox oils so A7RXY is now off the axle stands and MOT booked for Monday, might just take it out tonight after dark..........must clean up the engine bay........

Good stuff, looks well. Make sure tester reads his manual, visual smoke test only on these cars, no bungy no thingy up it\'s back pipe!
And tell him to get stuffed if there\'s 6 turns free play on the steering wheel "It\'s a steering box mate, lots of play allowed".
Just had a run around the block, I forgot how stiff the steering was, even on a short trip it made my arms ache................gym for me then...............

Is that right David, Visual smoke test only? I thought it was 4.5 limit for CO and 1200 for HC\'s.

Yes you may be right, but my tester has seen the car so often he just takes my word for it now that it\'s visual only! In the early days he tested it and it was always way inside those limits.
Also he\'s impressed when I quote the full VIN at him out of my head. I guess he just wants this anorak off the premises.:Snoring
