Title: Clutch issues
Post by: benson200sx on November 24, 2009, 02:06:30 AM
Had some fun on some roundabouts on Friday night and over cooked it a couple of times, when I tried putting it back into gear it wouldn\'t go at all in any of the gears, in the end I had to pump the clutch peddle a few times which seemed to help, now my clutch just seems to bite at random points when lifting the peddle. Can anybody tell me what I have to do to get this sorted out please. Many thanks ben

Hi there, you might just need to bleed the clutch line, sounds like it has a air bubble in it, its a bit like a bubble in the brake line, as the pump it, it compresses the air and makes the brakes/clutch work until the pressure is taken off.

Bleed the clutch line first and see if that helps, if it doesn\'t it might be a seal on the master or slave cylinder that might be leaking a bit and not holding pressure, but most likely its just an air bubble :)

Hi Benson,

Sounds like this is either a syncro dieing in the gear box or master cylinder,

For master check, with the car running put the car in first hold the pedal and see if the car drives off eventualy because the cylinder won\'t hold pressure,

For gear box syncro, double de clutch coming down the box, if it goes in clean this way it\'s a worn syncro,

Hope this helps
