Title: Will I need a new map?
Post by: jay on May 04, 2004, 09:32:20 PM
Recently had my FD mapped by Geff 241 atw.
Mods are:-
Blitz Front Mount
Apexi N1 zorst
De-cat
Hks Induction
Power Fc
Apexi RSM
Well I\'m goin formore power so I\'m fittin a HKS front pipe and mid pipe to start with and my question is how much more power will this give me roughly and will i need to get it mapped again?

20-30hp?

Yeah, quick tinker with the map I\'d say; mid pipe makes a big difference to exhaust...

Long term goals? spec your fuel system for whatever you MIGHT end up doing... Do you intend staying with the twin turbos? what boost do you intend to run - and so on...

Goin to stick with the twins as i dont really want to go too mad.
not really lookin to run massive boost .8 at the mo using 81% inj duty so I just asumed bigger inj were a good idea. basically lookin for reasonably reliable, reasonable power nothing too extreme.I know if i go down the single route i will chuck loads of cash at it and if i do have to sell it on it may be harder.

In that case I\'d just get a rising rate regulator, may be a cheap bosch pump like a 404 if you really want. Stick the exhaust bits on and see how wanting you are on the fuel front. With a slightly higher rail pressure you\'ll probably find your ok on inj duty I\'d guess...

I went for a Bosch 404 in tank pump and 1200 secondaries and now with an Apexi GT intercooler run at about 80% inj duty at WOT.

Fuelling will make a surprising difference as well, though I\'m now at the point where I\'m possibly looking at higher temperature spark plugs.  Think I\'ll need a spark boost pack of some sort to try and counter the cold/hot start/flooding problems some people get with them.

Depends on your boost Jay, if yer going to run say 10psi then I think injectors will be over kill. 1 bar on the other hand, swapping out the stock 850 secondaries for 1200s (which fit the stock rail) would be the way to go. How much booooost do u want mate? :)

.1 Bar would be plenty i think Rich. I dont want to go too mad:rolleyes:  1200 secondries fit on a standard rail......hmmm....... sounds good. What elsewould i need apart from the pump and roughly how much mate?
