Title: Engine Assembly Lube
Post by: Prof on November 18, 2009, 11:04:22 AM
Been reading up on engine builds and such - and was following one of Aaron Cake\'s threads about building up the engine again.

Some of these guys are using Engine Assembly Lube.  What\'s the general concensus on this stuff - should I be using it for my build ?

Is there any type that\'s preferred - going back to the old mineral/synethetic debate on oil - seems there are different types of this stuff as well :3Confused

I think its personal preference, i use Piper cams Assembly lube on my bearings and Vasaline on the plates etc.

Thing is if you use oil it does tend to disperse if left for any time so i do like to give a new engine quite a few cranks with the plugs out just to get some engine oil around before its started.
