Thought i\'d best say hello as i have been searching round the site reading up on these great cars! unfortunately i decided to buy a turbo2 blind off of egay, turns out to be a bit of a ....ter after 2 hours of ownership the alternator belt decided it didn\'t want to be in one piece anymore and helped the water pump belt kill it\'s self too! so resulted in a 3 and a half hours trip home on a recovery truck. next day replace all 4 belts, yay she fired up 1st time running sweet as a nut. But then after 40mins nice gentle driving the clutch pedal sticks to the floor! can\'t get the thing back up, so another trip on the back of a recovery truck home. At this point getting more than a little upset! i start looking for bits to fix this problem couple of days pass doing that awful thing called work. i though i best start her up let her warm up keep battery charged etc. the basted thing starts ....ing out white smoke with a hint of purple, wont idle properly and smelling sweet like anti freeze. as a result put in a call to carl at hayward rotary\'s(great guy). he said it sounds like an engine rebuild, lucky me. Still not completely put off by the least reliable car i\'ve ever owned decided to start saving my ass off to get her back on the road!
welcome to the world of rx\'s lol
i\'m sure i brought one bout 2 yrs ago but nt seen it for the good part of a year!
think of it as an investment / asset. might as well stick ur money in sth u can look at rather than sat in a bank not doing much lol

They go wrong because they aren\'t always maintained and are getting old now.
Sounds like a bit of a blow though - although I\'ve noticed they all treat their new owners the same way - tempt them with performance and then kick them.
Best of luck with the project - it\'s in safe hands with Carl.
