am i right in thinking the cylinder capacity on the logbook for an import and a uk model are different?

well i think thats just down to the engine capacity thats down on the registration document and as for imports mine had been registered as a 1300 when it arrived in the country.
im not sure if there is any difference as for registration on the UK spec car i believe it is just down to whatever engine size the dealer first registered the car as when it was first registered.

they will have changed your engine capacity... mine was a 1.3 and was about 60 quid for 6 months, i then got a letter saying tough .... we changed it to 2.6 and now you owe lots and lots for 6 months ha ha... thats basically how the letter went!

Imports are classed as 1300, uk spec ones are classed as a 2600, I think someone managed to get their engine size changed on the log book as they prooved it was a 1300, so got lower tax.

mine was reg as 2.5l (muppet of an importer) then i sent off to dvla with proov (print out) that its a 1.3l n they changed it to 1.3

then i went to change the reg plate n muppet at dvla decided to keep the v5 n change it to 2.6 (power trippin fugly dvla worker!)

Mine is registered as a 1300 and is £120.00 for the year. Just had new DVLA reminder still showing 1300cc.

mine was £200+ for a \'93 imported in \'02, registered as 2600. maybe we should put together a list of what we all have and what we\'re paying, show the DVLA how stupid and inconsistent they are?

Erk! :(

Taxed mine for 6 months not long ago at £68 or whatever it was :o

Now got a letter from them sat at home as its due for renewal, i hope they\'ve not changed the tax banding, struggling to justify keeping it as it is! :(
