hi people
im looking at buying a RX-7 from a guy on here but would like more info on the sva testing. ive spoken tio my local centre who say that i need the standard back box on it (can anyone lend me this in the bristol area please)
also is it just a case of changing the dial face from KMPH to MPH or does it need something to actually change the input???
will a small fog light bolted to the bottom of the rear bumper be enough to get it through?
sorry for all the questions
dave
hey there hope u get a 7 but if this in any help u can buy the de-limiter from a place which i will have to get back to u on but this acts as a conversion on your speedo from obviously kph to mph it and this also takes the restriction of the car ie limited to 112mph it is a small chip i had mine done by a auto electrician quite reasonable price that way also i am baffled as to you say that you have to change your back box as when mine went through it had a apexi exhaust on it, but i was wondering has your exhaust system gone all the way through. I think it is only a problem with your exhaust in case it is exceeding the noise regulations but i am not to sure. But one that i had a problem was the foglight basically the sva tester failed it on the fact that it was too low to the ground 240mm when it had to be 250mm this was a swine because i knew it had to be 250mm but when i had it fitted we measured it and the level was ok but on the day of the test he told me i had to have a full tank of fuel so that brought the level down to fail bar steward.
I will try and found out which company i used to source the de-limiter and foglight and let you know.
And finally i think you will need to get a new fuel cap for the sva test.
thanks mate thats a great help, any info on where i can get bits from with prices would be great,
