Post by: gnj37 on November 04, 2009, 03:28:52 PM
Can rx8 engine internals be used in a 13b or is their any or no point i.e better rotors rotor housings  seals etc

I assume you mean to be used in a "normal" 13B?
housings have no peripheral exhaust port...(side port exhaust instead)
rotors require machine work before they can be used...
umm...e shaft can be used I think, but read around the foums for more info :)

yea i agree what do you want to acheve. i know people that have lost 1/2 a sec onthe 1/4 mile by changing there rotating assmbly and other people that have gained 1/2 a sec on a race track (rx8 internals are much liter than std)
lite weight = faster reving/less touqe.  good for race track
heavey bits = slower reving /more touqe. good for drag racing

well thats how i see it anywayz

im sure some one will differ

Just with the rx8 engine been newer and maybe of a better design easier to obtain mix and match to get a better motor thinking of bridge porting or pp N/a motor

well why not just go for an rx8 motor? its about as powerful as an n/a bridged 13b but with better drivability than even a stock 13b 6port, let alone a bridged one.

saying that i doubt it will sound as cool :P

judging from what i read is the rx8 motor a sort of neutered version of the older engines no insult intended mind u I\'m no expert
