Title: Another \'would these wheels fit Q\'
Post by: ash on November 02, 2009, 09:08:19 PM
Hi Guys,

I have seen a set of alloys that I like, they were fitted to an Evo 8, tyre size is 235/45/17, offset is 30-38 and bore is 67.1.

Would these fit standard arches?

Thanks
Ash

How about these:

Front: 235/40/18 8.5J

Rear:265/35/18 9.5J

Offset of 25-27 approx. I think these would fill the arches nicely, but not sure about the width of the front tyres?

Is this for an FC or FD? I only ask cos it\'s posted in the FC section, but lots of FD owners are saying they fit! Not to say they wouldn\'t fit an FC (though I\'m not sure they would having said that). I\'m just sooo confused :3Confused

Hey Nik, for an FC, but I see your point...Batman were you referring to the FD or FC?

Good! Thought so. I reckon those second set you put up may be a bit big for an FC, but I may well be wrong. At least I\'m less confused now :D

Batman:  Didn\'t you fit 8.5 et25\'s to a widebody? If so, your advice on good fitment is null and void :p :D

furb has got 8.5j and 9.5j et 22 on his and it fills it up nicely.
not sure what bore size though.

Yep, 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 but I thought the offset was 25 both front and rear...only a 3mm difference though.

Probably posted up before but this helps out a lot when figuring out if the wheel will fill to the outside of the arch http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

I think to fit OEM FD rims to an FC you only need a small spacer, so there isn\'t a huge amount of difference, but I guess when it gets to the larger sizes im guessing it does!

coilovers also come in handy for the inner clearance.

Coilovers are no good for drag racing :rollinUnless you buy drag specific ones :rollin

well ive got 9j all round but needed a 5 mm spacer up front to clear suspension and then had to buy 25mm spacer for the raer as the difference in looks front and rear were silly im running 215 40 17 all round tho
