i have one on mine - but you dont really get anything when it changes up by itself

but if you floor it and back off before it changes - you get the noise

you can also do it in park aswell :D

Grinder, do you have any regrets with an auto? I.e is it still fun to drive compared to a manual ? Any upsides and downsides, also what\'s the gear change like? Smooth or lumpy ?

Auto boxes don\'t lose boost ont he shifts, and you can convert them to run paddle shifters :)

paddle shift... how ???????????

and the auto ... well i have the FC and its fine changing up .. just a bit iffy on the down change :(

it gets confused and drops , revs it nuts off , thinks about it and then changes into the gear you want ( this is when you floor it )

if you accelerate gently then its not tooo bad :D

Well I know on a skyline/300zx box the shifts are controlled by another ECU...so you just replace the ECU with another control system that allows you to choose when you shift :)

Thats for a RX8, this will be for most auto boxes, but I think its going to be the skyline box first

this i dont think would be that difficult to do(i was gonna have a play on the yellow one i just got,now hopefully being sold the lucky number7), after all there is a button on the gearshifter that allows you to redline it, and yes the fd does have its own ecu for the autobox.

Im curious what the auto box will take in the RX7, the largo auto box is good for 500bhp !
Hopefully there wasn\'t more than one type of auto box for the rx7 (just incase) !

500bhp :Thumbs-up on Auto box.....

note: hold button doesn\'t work or works once when car is fitted with an Apexi FC (this varies on each auto rx7 and you may have to turn off ignition to re-set ) :yes

think \'sicknote\' upgraded an auto gearbox many years ago ask him.

You can make the \'Hold\' button work all the time - but you have to run the standard and and Apexi at the same time - using a Banzai Racing Automatic FD ECU Harness Adapter.

We have solved all those problems with our harness adapter mentioned above.

Up until now automatic FD owners have truly been limited when it comes to modifying their cars. This is why we sat down and figured out how to install an aftermarket engine management system that would keep the "HOLD" feature, as well as maintaining all the shifting functions.

What we have come up with is an adapter harness that allows installation of multiple EMS systems, while keeping the stock ECU operational to control the transmission computer. The stock ECU piggybacks on the EMS signals with just enough inputs to keep it on "life support".

Above is a picture showing the adapter with an APEXi Power FC. However, it is designed to be used with any plug and play EMS system.
