Title: Good Article on Power Figures and Dyno runs...

A friend of mine sent me this link - lots of good stuff in there about the eternal, and boring,  debate of flywheel power figure + dyno graph, pub figures etc.

yep thats why to me a cars Wheel HP figure is more impressive then flywheel and thats how I like to compare power between cars, I like the writers quote at the end lol

The moral of the story is clear - if you don\'t know the power at the wheels you don\'t know diddly-squat - so as the man in Hill St Blues used to say - "be careful out there folks".

I wish I had read that when I started tuning cars a good few years ago, everything you need to know expained clearly and in one place rather than having to piece it together yourself - it\'s so easy for someone to \'fiddle\' a dyno flywheel power figure to show off their mapping ability, or just give a pub readout that means little in the real world......

Really puts into context that someone can get a 10-20 bhp fluctuation from a flywheel reading on a dyno and all of a sudden they assume that something is wrong with the car + it\'s down on power etc... even though it still feels strong on the road. :yes
