On the bay, starting @ 50 quid. Out of a series 2 apparently.

why does 13b engines not come up are they scarce?
The 13B wasn\'t fitted in the UK versions of the 1st Gens. Some sucessful retro fits of 2nd Gen 13B\'s have been carried out on here. Shaun? (Shaunwil), Mark? (MKP460P).
Sorry Mark = MKP490P
Oh yes :D Wish I\'d gone for the 4 port though (turbo action)

You can easily buy the bits to fit a 13b into a 1st gen and just run it on the 12a dizzy and a low pressure carb.

What are the benefits Shaun of a 13b over a 12a.
It\'s something I\'ve long since thought about doing but I was looking to tranplant a turbo 2 13b out of a 2nd gen.
If I used a 13b without the fuel injection, I\'m presuming it\'ll be worse on fuel than a 12a but give greater torque?
Or am I just better off dropping a full 13b setup out of a fc inc the ecu, injection, etc, etc into it?
I remember you saying to me that you would\'nt use an EGI engine if you were doing the conversion again.
Am I right in thinking that the T2 engine is the 4 port?
mine is what they call a early 13b set up 12a end plates with 13b rotors and housings making it a 4 port, Bish (Archbish) has just finished a T11 set up in his gen 1
One of the key benefit of going 13b was the engine parts are more available than the 12a stuff.
Also it gives you more bhp and torque. Fuel wise I get about 16-18mpg on LPG all day long with various spirited driving. The 6 port isn\'t as good on mpg as the 4 port. I don\'t get huge gains but see 125bhp flywheel on LPG with a 70mm throttle body which is probably not big enough !
You could get more on a petrol carb and good exhaust system. Mark will know figures better.
Bish\'s car is Injection with a GT35r. One hell of a setup for a 1st gen. Very much a little rocket !
Shaun
I\'m not too concerned about mpg as I don\'t do many miles in it, it\'s not my daily driver.
I\'ll probably go for injection if I do get around to an engine swap rather than carbs.
The guy selling the engine also has a Series 2 front suspension set up lying around the place if anyone\'s interested. Not much else and from what I can gather the shell itself is long gone.
