hey guys i have had a leak on the boot of my fd since i had it, but now it is all stripped out i have a nice sloshy pubble in the spare wheel well, i have re sealed the back window but its still leaking, is there any common places water can get in as i cant see where its comming from:Hammer
Yeah, through the spoiler mounts is a good one. You wanna sort it if you still have working ABS, cos it\'ll pretty soon blow the ECU for the ABS up, which lives behind the passenger side boot trim
thanks nik, abs is long gone and so is the spoiler, the only place i can think of is the seal between the body and the tailgate?
Check the rubber bungs behind the rear lights..... suprising how much water goes down there!! Wouldn\'t have thought it to be the boot lid seal as there is a raised lip the water will have to pass over & that is 10mm high all the way around!!
jono
Weird! Yeah, like Jono said, then. There\'s a couple of drains that siphon any water that runs down the gutters either side of the bootlid that run behind the rear lights. Seems about the only option left.
ill have a good prod around tonight then, thanks for the ideas guys!
Have you tried pouring a really thick liquid (like a strongly made ribena) on the back end? It should show the leak as when the liquid dries it\'s easy to see, plus you can lick it off! Seriously tho a coloured liquid, poured on the back and then you should be able to see where it\'s getting through.
with mine, it was a grommet where an alarm installer had run a wire into the indicators, low down under the lights on the drivers side. i finally found it and put it back, all sorted. water was running down behind the lights and into the wheelwell.
Mine is the same... The rear is all stripped out, but I noticed a swimming pool in the spare wheel well. Gonna have to suss out where it\'s coming from.
did you ever get this sorted as ive got this problem aswell
