Before I got my Rex I did a bit of research, and found that on idle I should be reading about 30psi on the oil pressure gauge and around 60psi when driving.
Over the last month, mine has been a bit erratic. Managed to get some pics to demonstrate.
The idle has been higher since the air pump was removed which could explain why the idle pressure sits between 30 and 60?

And when driving normally the pressure is on or sometimes higher than 60. Not massively, but I tend to worry about these things :o

And on slightly higher revs,

I\'m probably getting worried over nothing, but a little reassurance would be great :)

Mine have never gone above 60 and thats on a rebuild. Highly likely the pressure sensor is faulty as they all seem to be. Its just underneath your oil filter and is easy to do. The gauge is generally pretty good. At ldle they will drop down quite low as in your pic. The only really sure way of finding out what the true reading is,best to fit a new or aftermarket setup. Trust me though the stock oil and boost (if TII) gauges are not the most accurate thing mazda has produced.
They look fine - on idle it can be anyway between 15-30+, increasing with revs.
Is the oil fresh ? Older oil is generally thicker and will result in a higher reading.
Will have a look at the pressure sensor.
Had the oil changed yesterday. Was about 2.5-3k miles old.
looks like where mine sits tbh..
Think this was just a case of em getting worried over nothing. Had a drive from Portsmouth to Croydon and the pressure didn\'t go more than 60. Appreciate the info though guys :Thumbs-up
