errm, I got an Amemiya one from Newera but it cost about three times what one of Pip\'s costs, and took a while to arrive from Japan. So that\'s probably not ideal then....

You could try one of these but I really dont know how they perform.  Price is good though.

Doh, turns out I dont have an ast, it\'s been scrapped by the previous owner.  There are two holes blanked off.  Does this mean the overflow tank in the wing could be obsolete? As I tried filling the overflow but it poured onto the floor.

Cheers

Even a deleted AST setup would require an overflow tank of some sort?  Got any pictures of your engine bay layout?

Hi Luke,

From personal experience, I would say don\'t bother upgrading unless the new AST has a 0.9 Bar cap on it. The same rating as the car has now. Or lets you use the original cap.

Why? Because I bought a Mazdaspeed AST and it came with a 1.3Bar cap (which I think was the original rating when the car was first sold). Looks beautiful and shiny and nicely made (and yes cost me fortune)

Fitted it to the car and went for a drive for 3 minutes. When I brought the car back I had water pouring out of the overflow bottle, frightend the ?@*%!! out of me! lol

Thought I\'d blown the water seals because the increased water pressure caused by new cap put too much strain in the system. Very quickly put the old one back on!

Thankfully no problems since (that was six years ago) phew.

Mazdaspeed are naughty too as the cap is custom made, I was unable to find a single  0.9 bar cap that would fit properly.

Not trying to scare you mate, just my 5p worth.

P.S. almost forgot, the only 0.9bar AST i\'ve seen is the RE-Amemiya one.
