Does anyone know if there are any bolt in cages available for the FD that don\'t require the butchering of the interior, would also like to be able to keep the rear seats, trying to keep some home comforts in this one.
Cheers
you can get rear cages that just bolt in and im pretty sure you can get front ones too, they are called dash dodgers for the ones that dont need cutting of stuff, if its just purely for looks then go for it, cusco make a bolt in dash dodger one, you wont get door bars in without removing the doorcards... also they can become a bit of a safety problem, they can become a object that you will hit rather than saving you, yes a bolt in will add a bit more strength...
guarantee a "trader" will be along some time soon to sell you a fully weld in cage, full buckets, harnesses (that they will mount in an unsafe place) oh and you will need coilovers and brakes to go with it **sarcastic mode off**
here you go

Just make sure you have full fixed seats and harnesses in the car for both you and your passenger - else DO NOT fit the cage

harnesses will hold you in the seat in the possibility of a roll over, a normal belt will let you fall out and hit your head on the cage.
My car is fitted with a full bolt in cage, there was no need to cut away anything apart from slitting the front carpet. The rear half fitted very snugly, however the front half I had to have a couple of spacers fitted between floor and the cage foot to tuck the bars hard up into the roof lining. The cage came with door bars and there was no need to remove the door cards, they are a tight fit (as they should be) and if they snag the door cards then the cage has not been fitted correctly.
I would never ever use the door bars on the road though, those are only for track use.
I whole heartedly agree with everyone else on here that you must fit and wear full harness belts, and have the cage padded in the passenger compartment as per FIA regs.
You will not be able to fit full harness and keep the rear seats though as the shoulder straps fixing need to be at the correct angle and therefore need to be placed in the boot.
Hope this helps.
Thanks chaps,
Laurenzo, do you know what make your cage is and where it came from?
any one have any idea on were to get just the rear cage having no luck at all
I just knew that you were going to ask who made it, and the trouble is I am not sure as I bought it from another member who bought a car with it already in, I have a feeling it is a Cusco??? or on the other hand  So a little picy so someone can put us all right.

Ada\'s got one like that, I\'ve banged my head on it several times :rollin(ooer!)
I think it\'s a Safety Devices thing?
Mine is a safety Devices cage. Is bolt in but you have to cut up some of the interior panels for it to fit.
Dont have a good picture of it to show you though.
