Title: Alternator problem?
Post by: Ste C on October 10, 2009, 03:40:21 PM
Hi, Just recently I\'ve noticed that my battery charge light sometimes is on when driving. Thanks to my Apexi FC commander I am able to monitor the battery voltage when driving. while im in low revs 1000-2500rpm the voltage hangs around 12volts, if im at high rpm im getting 14-15volts. Sometimes I still get 14-15volts at low revs, but, it seems to choose when to charge when it feels like it. Before I go any further I would like your wisdom, cheers!

Does sound like the alternator is on its way out. Are your belts in good condition though? They can sometimes slip without sqeaking if they\'re really worn.
