hi guys
Wanted your ideas on what to do on the situation im in.
Basically my engine has been on its way out for a few months now(about 4) water seal went but ive been using it anyway as its my only transport.
The rebuild will cost me 2k and ive been saving like mad to get the money together, ive finally got 2.8k in the bank and was planning on driving my car down to london(im in stoke) and gettign a train back.
Problem is now ive flooded my engine and because it only starts on 1 rotor for the first 5seconds(clears then runs fine) i cant get it to start.
I knew this day would come eventually, the issue is, how do i get it down to london from stoke as cheaply as possible, what do you guys do in this scenario as it seems 90% of the people on here has had there engines rebuilt
Thanks in advance
Lee
Tow trucks usually charge a £50 call out fee, the £1 a mile. So I would get it towed as the cost wouldnt be that much more than a tank of petrol and a train ticket.
Hope you get it sorted matey.
do you not have break down cover??
look on ebay there are loads of em just check they have insurance etc as some of em are doing it as a cash raiser after work type thing so prob wont be fully insured.

i do yes, got it through my bank, surely i cant break down on my street and asked to be taken to london though?
I could imagine if i was halfway there or something
worth a try to see what they say??
my mates skyline blew up as he was pulling out of his drive, they look his car 250 miles to where he wanted.
some of them will take it to your house or a garage ... not your fault that the garage is xxx miles away !
is there a reason you are taking it to london ???
cant afford to have it rebuilt up here as im looking at 3300+vat for the same thing as 2k inc vat down south hence the big difference in price so i have to go else where
have you spoke to carl at hayward rotary? he built mine for bout 3k, itsa very strong engine an customer care is awesome
Kris
Get a friend to tow your car a distance from your house then phone the breakdown company and request to take the "towed to the garage of your choice option"
I know of someone who joined the AA paying monthly direct debit and did exactly the same and got his gtir towed from portsmouth to middlesbrough. This was only last month and he got his car back to his tuner\'s unit for a measley sum of just £7 (first payment).

yeh its me, my god how are you? havent heard from you in ages, last time i saw you, you were selling a white fd
Heh! Locki Has that one now!
How\'s it going?
I\'ve moved back to Stoke again and am now waiting for the exchange rate to recover so I can start Importing again!
I\'ve fallen in love with a few of the FDs that i\'ve brought in and sold, (only car that it breaks my heart to sell) so the next FD I bring in is going to be for me! :D I\'ll give you a shout when the next one is shipping as I sometimes get parts shipped in the cars. So if you want something...
I heard a rumour that you wrapped a fairlady? That true? xD
that is indeed true, i did wrap the fairlady bigstyle, hit a patch of diesel and lost it, my own fault really i suppose for paying attention to the road, only had the car 5days i think aswell!
Things are going quite well, ive got an interview with the RAF on wednesday and im working in hanley only 10mins walk from my house.
If you get any extra bits and bobs coming in with cars ill be interested, would like a power fc, injectors etc for when its all run in.
rang the guy today whos doing it, had a chat about it, told him to go mad with the porting and said im aiming for 500bhp by xmas next year(14months) so i want an engine that will get me there.
oh yeh, buy a 99 spec one so i can nick your bumper and spoiler when your asleep!
Heh i\'ll be getting one with a 99 spec front bumper and rear spoiler! :D
The joys of being able to import your own. The Japanese agent I use will even respray the car for me in any colour including pearl and pull any dings for £400!
10 mins walk from Hanley? Is that your FD off A****r Road?
500 Hp??? Hehe you will still be walking to work because of the fuel bill! X0. I\'ll be going for about 300-350 when I get mine, but will be giving the suspension, breaks and cooling an overhaul first! I brought in a half bridge ported single turbo FD that was running at least 400 and that was unbelievable! Felt like you were driving in the wet when it was dry!! For something with 500 I\'d definately recommend some kind of traction control!
What you going for in the RAF?
Cant you just de flood the engine and start it for your final journey on the engine? i found if i take the pugs out dry them and put em back in i have no probs starting it or get it tow started by someone.
