Title: PFC mapping/MOT questions
Post by: ScuttleRX on May 01, 2004, 11:37:26 PM
Hi all, have a couple of questions if anyone can help me,

First, im thinking of putting a de-cat pipe on after the MOT, do you reckon i\'ll need a full re-map or will a tweek of the boost settings (if needed) suffice.

Other question is about the MOT, to pass the emissions test ive heard you have to change the settings on the pfc, is this just a case of temporarily leaning out the fueling for the test then reverting back to original? is there anything to avoid doing, dont wanna do any damage.

Cheers :D

Andy

I don\'t know the current map you have so I would lean towards a re-map to be safe. If all is setup ok already then the mapper would not need long at all to tweak things a little.
I think you will need a cat for an mot and they should do a non cat test as long as your car is a pre-aug 95 therefore you needn\'t touch the apexi.

Yeah ive had it mapped with current mods, only trouble is I aint near any tuners really, why I was hoping to get away with it

I\'ll leave cat on for MOT, thats why i was thinking of changing it as soon as MOT is done so i got a year b4 i have to worry about it again. Car is a \'96 which is why i think im gonna run into trouble with the old co2 test...unless i can find a \'rotary friendly\' tester :D
