Title: wideband guage different readings than laptop datalogit
Post by: DR SCHNITZEL on October 06, 2009, 06:47:48 PM
Hello yalll!!

i have just fitted a plug n play wideband gauge into my trigger wheels wideband, now the guage has different readings than the laptop on datalogit. datalogit is set for average readings. In general the laptop is showing leaner than the guage by one point. 14.7 on the laptop is 13.7 on the digital gauge. i mapped the car with the laptop (the leaner of the 2) and i synced the w/b up correctly with the datalogit (volt ranges).

i think i trust the new digi gauge as it would explain the ignition breakup as the car is running richer than i thought

i have reset the w/b and double checked the volts

any ideas lads and ladettes:3gears-lh

Are the grounds at the same point or are they located in seperate points?
That is typically the cause.

Is your wideband linear and what polynominal have you set in the datalogit

I set the volts ranges as instructed in the wideband setup docs. The graph was linear in the instructions. Im a bit stumped as the plug in guage doesnt have any setup option

Iv\'e only had dealings with innovate stuff, thats linear but you still have to check the polynominal in the datalogit.
When setup properly the datalogit will be the most accurate.

the bosch sensor isnt linear but the wb is as far as im aware, ive email trigger wheels maybe ill find out the answer soon but thats the least of my worries as today my steering came apart by the turbo and i hit a barrier at 80 mph. bloody scary.

:eek Wow. broken steering column is never a good thing, was there any play before hand?

You will have to find what reference the guage uses for the 0-5v ie 9-16.10-20etc and set that up in the wideband software as you did with the datalogit.
P.S. hope you and the car are ok

Im ok and so is the its very fortunate i was on a very quite road i didnt hit a lamp post or a tree or an oncoming car no play in the sterring as such it just worked loose at the knuckle near the rack under my turbo.

been told today that the digi guage is gospel. so my datlogit is saying its leaner than it is. this prob explains why i still get ignition breakup when im in 10s and 9s in datalogit im really 7s and 8s (to 1)

the gauge is just plug n play, and i did set up the voltages correctly as the instructions said. i am also using the correct terminals. wierd but i have bigger fish to fry at the moment
