Ive seen cars advertised with 1300cc on the log book so eligable for cheap tax, is it possible to legally change the cc in the log book or is this a myth?
Keith..
Some info on it here in these threads

Some grey imports have been registered with the actual displacement because the DVLA didn\'t grasp that it was a rotary at the time the owners were re-registering individual cars.
In the case of the original UK 1st gens my guess (and it is only a guess) is that you\'re stuck with the agreed rating of 2300cc. (Agreed with DVLA when the 1st Gens were new).
You can try your luck but I haven\'t bothered using an envelope and stamp because I think you\'ll get a resounding "Get Lost Mr. 1st Gen Owner, Pay us £190 a year or else". I might be wrong on this......
i changed mine (some 3/4 years ago) when i did a engine number change, said it was a 1.3 and they changed it no problems
Ahh, maybe I should get myself a 13B under the bonnet !
Keith.
I reckon that\'s the only way you\'ll get away with it Keith.
From reading the above threads, it looks like a few lucky owners got their log books changed until word got around and when the number of applications increased, DVLA looked at it again and realising that it was the thin end of the wedge and that they would lose revenue, they put a stop to it.
If you changed the engine though and specified it to be 1300cc, would they know any different?
Might have consequences though if you were to make an insurance claim... any old excuse not to pay out and all that.
Depends how clued up the assessor is...
I think you are right Ian, probably not worth the agro.
i got mine changed on the FC about 2 years ago ( ish ) - its a JDM model so sent a load of paperwork showing that the FC was only available in Japan as a 1.3 ;)

Anybody know of anyone who has done this lately? I quite fancy some cheap road tax....
