the car is a 95 rx7 type r with full feed 2 bodykit its sprayed in the sparkling red that they come in

18” Konig Monsoon white wheels with chrome lips wrapped in Bridgestone tires makes the car stand out

2 previous owners since imported in 1998.

TYPE-R so it comes with twin oil coolers suspension has been uprated its got a full stainless steel exhaust and twin apexi air filters its had a new exedy clutch fitted to it about 3 months ago running at about 300 bhp going to get compression test done on it this next sometime when i find out somebody who can do near to where i live

its also registered as a 1.3 so 6 months tax cost 66 quid

Without proof of a rebuild it brings down the price a fair amount imo.

Mazda will do you a compression test mate

One worrying part is "Keighley Car Centre" in that sentence.

Nearest place to go is WGT (J18 M6) for a compression test.

Think I saw this on RX7club in shineautos thread- remember it from the overspray which is horrific, but otherwise a nice FD :).

Title: testing the waters
Post by: davehg on October 04, 2009, 09:00:12 PM
if they have the correct kit for a rotary (piston engine tester is not a lot of good) you should get 3 readings per rotor, I.E 7.1, 7.1, 7.2 front and 6.8, 6.9 6.9 bar rear obviously yours will not be the same as those stated.

as already stated keighley trade has a terrible reputation on every car forum ive ever been on

Chances are it has had front end damage as thats what keighley normally buy " or so im told" ( little legal disclamer there)

But if the compression is good then i cannot see why its not worth 5-6k maybe a little more.

No/poor test 3-4k unless someone comes along and has no idea about the car they are viewing and just buy because the heart tells them too

We have all been there ends up costing a fortune:rollin

Someone picked up a rotary compression tester from the states for just under £200 delivered.

Its over on fduk and the vids of it show it as a pretty good piece of kit!....ill be buying one before i go and look at any rx7 in the future from now on.

Also for the car, seriously dude sort out the overspray and the bonnet dont do it any favours. Sort that out and you may sell it.

But personally if anyone told me that it had came from keighly trade or whatever they are called id be running a mile!!

Sorry mate sounds like a lemon to me :(

\'She\'s gonna blow captain! - get her to a recognised tuner for a health check, it\'s the only way you\'re going to sell it.  Do you not think the overspray is a problem? your headlights are pink! and have no plastic surround which is strange, they have obviously been off the car at some point.

Don\'t tell any potential buyers about Keighley Trade Centre!

Does the speedo read in MPH? if so, what was the KM reading when it was imported because since then (2007) you\'ve been doing miles, not kilometers so the mileage will be higher.

If it was 80K imported that is 50K miles plus the 28K miles you\'ve done is more like 78K in miles!

the overspray in the engine bay, the bent bonnet, misaligned headlights, oil coolers and rads covered in red paint mate are not a good sign... Front end accident is a definate in my opinion....i would get some matt black and paint all the red overspray over the coolers, pipes etc .... I think the car is gonna be a tuff sell if u are expecting to see more than 2k...spend some time and tidy up the engine and front end and you will see a better return....
