Title: My FD Resurrection
Post by: MattDaKav on September 28, 2009, 08:25:48 PM
Hi folks,

I\'m new to the wonderful world of Mazda\'s. I have been, and still do, play with Nissans and Vespas mainly but I\'ve always wanted an FD so I\'ve got myself a new project.

I know what you\'re thinking... she\'s a real looker huh... :Giggle

I bought it a few weeks ago as a Cat C write off & I\'m in the process of returning it to the road with a few alternations.

Some progress...

I\'m not going for a billion horses or anything but I thought I\'d share my labour of love with you.

Still cant decide on a color! :Hammer

Quite a lot of progress if you ask me, stick with black, always looks good.
That 300zx in the background is the spits of one I had on a n F plate, also had a turbo on a D plate, great cars.

Looking good fella, nice to see them being bought back on the road. How long have you been working on it, seems you are doing a good job. was there any damage to the chassis?

Keep it back, the by far the best colour, although it never stays clean :-(

Thanks.

Yeah, I\'ve had a couple of Z31s... that one\'s on its way to being a 400bhps-ish track car. Hence I need the RX as a daily.

Black is nice but I\'ve had so many black cars & fancy a change.

Cheers mate. I\'ve only had it a month. Been working on it at the weekends when its dry.

Luckily there was no chassis damage. The bonnet, light covers & front bumper were the only victims. Panel gaps are all nice & straight. Hopefully get an MOT in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry, I should\'ve said... I\'ll be mounting small mirrors on the window plates.
It will need an MOT before the VIC as the car has to be road worthy before they\'ll VIC it.

Really?!? Sweet.

Well there\'s a set of five FC pulleys on ebay for £18.50 so I\'m guessing its not worth loads. I\'d be happy to give you a tenner for it... if you\'d take it?
