Title: what\'s the limit on a AP Eng PFC base map? (FC)
Post by: L18M on September 23, 2009, 11:05:28 PM
bit of forward planning and knowledge. i dont have much , if any, knowledge on maps or base map but heard the base map run 5-10% richer fuel wise than stock ecu.

so what is the max mods u can get away with running on the base map while running in an engine?

setup:
large street ports
550cc primary
1680cc secondary
walbro fuel pump & fpr
v-mount
t04e similar size tub
3" d/pipe & exhaust
profec b

is this too much for base map?
or is this a case of get a run-in map prior to driving, no questions about it!?

I think the base map is just that - it will get you to a tuner - but keep off boost !!

cheers prof.
was thinking of doing about 500 miles run in on used housing so no boost then map properly. (thats like 3 trips, garage to home, run an errand to cornwall then trip to mapper lol)
