Title: RX7 FC Engine Removal Tips?
Post by: h20490 on September 23, 2009, 10:54:11 AM
Hey guys,

Been working on the FC for a while now and Im just about to take the engine and box out together and wanted to know how does the Prop Shaaft come out? Is It a case of it sliding out or is there a little more to it?

Its been little pain  no mechanical background but Im still enjoying it.

Trying to get the engine out before the weekend so I can paint the engine bay and install the spare engine I picked up and the its a case of checking the damage from the previous owner and going from there.

Thanks

Ash

exhaust and heat shields need to come off, and also the boomerang bracket ;)

Then mark up the bolts on the diff / prop shaft in case they have balancing washers, then remove them and slide the shaft down and out :)

You will want a bag over the gearbox shaft hole to catch any oil that will come out ;)

Cheers Prof!

Yeah I took te exhaust off and the heat shields :-)

Bracket Gearbox (Boomerang) is also off with a jack and some wood supporting the gearbox as are the engine mounts.

Thanks for the quick reply!
