Title: Power Output Help please
Post by: FD3S Efini on September 22, 2009, 10:24:18 PM
Im getting my car back from a rebuild in a few weeks and i have been buying some goodies for FD ok here is what i will have as a setup when i get my car back:

Apexi Twin induction kit
HKS Downpipe
Racing Beat exhaust
Blitz/Panspeed intercooler
KOYO Type Z radiator (waiting to buy this)
Apexi Power FC

this will be on during the run in period of 1000 miles unmaped (on low boost going no higher than 3000 rpm) once it is mapped what do you reckon she will produce at the fly an at the wheels?

Cheers in advance

Kris

All depends on what boost your pushing matey & porting??
Std ports & std boost you will probably be around 280 fly, but if your lifting the boost with a little porting, then you could be looking about 350-370 fly

its guna be standard porting and standard boost(i think standard boost  anyways) 280 at the fly doesn\'t sound like much of an increase i was expecting a lil more.

hows u anyways jono? im still guna come to you for that tinting when i get my car back

sorry to change topic slightly, but can you not get it mapped before its run in? or u choosing to get it mapped after its run in?

im going off what was said to me...fit the apexi and have it on when running in and then map it once the run in is done (i think this was how it went lol)

i thought (which is a total guess) would be possible to map her before run in as not boosting ful power and running at 8k for long, only a few seconds.

i\'ll start a new thread. done wanna mess up ur thread any more, sorry!

at Standard boost, if you are running a full decat 230 @ wheels approx 270 - 280 at the fly really you need to boost to 12psi to crack 300bhp, but this all depends on the quality of the tuner tbh
You need to upgrade the fuel pump to keep things safe and the ability to boost higher then stock.

You can get 260-270 @ wheels approx with 0.85 bar if you have the fuel

I\'m not too bad matey ;) When your ready just yell :)

With the bolt on bits running std boost etc, 30 ponies isn\'t a bad jump, but open the boost a little & alot more can be had... stock twins have pushed 400 bhp, but then you replace the blowers every other month! it\'s all down to how far your willing to push componants.

Also got a better price on your paint too.... another guy I know, but he will need to see it befor giving a fixed price!

yeah i always thought that if you raise the boost you lower the reliability of the car and i want it as reliable as possible lol

Yeah il giv you a shout when im guna pop down and get that tinting...no doubt my mate will pop down with me aswell.

different price for the spray that sounds gd to me, gimme a pm with your number mate and il txt you and we can sort out a date and stuff...also are you going to japshow?

I have:

Decat
Blitz induction kits
HKS intercooler hard pipes
Stock intercooler
Stock radiator
HKS Super Dragger back box
PFC

Mapped to 0.85barg and pushing 307bhp @fly and just under 270bhp @ wheels

so if i have mine mapped toabiout the same boost as you will maybe have slightly more powe because of the rad and intercooler? am i right in thinking this or am i wrong?

also what is the standard boost set at?

radiator doesn\'t particularly have anything to do with making power as such - just helps keep the heat down (which more power creates)

I would imagine the intercooler would help quite a bit - could potentially see another 20-30bhp over mine I would reckon if you map it up.

oh yeah, mine is also mapped for 99ron fuel, so that def helps as well

Stock boost is 10psig = 0.69barg

Depends who is mapping as well, and what they deem to be an acceptable level of injector duty. I was hitting 90% at 293 fly, so we stopped there- I\'ll need bigger injectors or higher fuel pressure to go higher.

Not to mention the debates you can get into over dyno accuracy...
