Title: stock oil pressure gauge inconsistant?
Post by: suba on September 13, 2009, 02:11:58 PM
The stock oil pressure gauge on my FD is flicking / fluctuating at high speed - it seems to be fine about town.  The motion would suggest that there is a bad connection somewhere that is being provoked by the vibration at high speed...

Id this a known issue - and where are the connections / sender for the gauge so that I can check them?

Cheers.:guinness

I think this is fairly common as the stock gauges are rubbish, mine has a tendncy to jump about, it\'ll be sitting fine on 4, then suddenly drop to zero and then back to 4. I doubt theres anything wrong with your oil pressure, its probably the sender.

Yep - I know it\'s not the oil pressure, the reading is wobbling about too much for it to be that.  It just a bit annoying and would like to get it sorted!:cheers

The senders are known to be crap, if your that worried get a good aftermarket one mate and you will see true oil pressure then

LOL - it\'s not that I am worried, I\'m more bothered about having to watch it jiggle around when I look at the dials!

The sender is the prime suspect.
