Hi,
Got a problem with the front brakes. I thought there maybe seised piston in. Wanted to recon anyway, so did this and chucked in some new pads and bled the brakes.
Took the car out to test them and they are getting far too hot (both fronts). Even when not having used them much at all. I have had it suggested that its the brake servo slave or something (basically not releasing the pressure when I come off the brake pedal)
Does this sound right & anyonew know what I have to do to correct the problem?
Cheers, Ricco.
sounds like seals are getting stuck in brake master...get a new one...usually leaving it for a couple of hours relieves the pressure and they unseize...
Right cheers, so I need a new brake master cylinder then.
Few options I believe;
New one from Mazda
Second hand off breaker
Reconditioned one from someone? (can they be reconditioned, if so is it something I could do?)
Last option I was just being told about was the 929 upgrade?
cah you push the pistons in the caliper back all the way without forcing them ? , did you take the pistons out and recon them properly? pull the rubber seals of and have a look at the pistons, ive got a few sets of std calipers if you are stuck.
Well when the engine isn\'t running I can see the pistons move in and out when a friend pushes the pedal so the pistons have free movement. I haven\'t checked that with the engine running (so no servo assist)
It was also doing this problem before I swapped calipers so I have to assume its a part that has not been changed.
Is the master cylinder the part with the reservoir on top that goes into the servo?
Cheers for the help :)
Anyone know if the brake master cylinder can be rebuilt? Anyone done it for that matter?
