Title: When testing the turbo control actuator, KOKO
Post by: pigeon on September 04, 2009, 07:14:55 PM
Ok when you are testing the turbo control actuator with the, key on key off method, should the actuator arm move all the way in or just flicker.
Im trying to get to the bottom of a boost issue and its quite frustrating!

Cheers Adam.

90% sure it should shoot all the way in and all the way out, also if it moves slowly forward/backward that indicates a lazy actuator and also causes boost issues, It should be a solid drive in/out.

It\'ll be a total pain in the ass, but check the hoses that go to the actuator. You\'ll have to take the air box off and the air pump if you have them. I\'ve got three sets of hoses, all of which are cracked in the same place. Also test the continuity of the top turbo control actuator (mounted on the ACV), as these break down too. Test it hot, or bake it in the oven to 100 degrees to test. Should be about 32 ohms. Hope that helps, and good luck!

Cheers guys. Iv narrowed it down to either one/both of the solenoids or an electrical fault between them and the ecu. they both flick on briefly so im saying its an electrical fautl seen as the ecu controls both on the same line.

Cheers Adam.
