Title: New boy saying hello
Post by: Laurenzo on August 31, 2009, 03:40:05 PM
Hi, I just hope that I have posted this in the right place, if not will the mods please put it in the right section.

ffice:office" />

Hello one and all, I am a new boy on here, and would like to introduce myself, I use the word boy, but sadly that was a few years back :2Rolleyes, and there is now “snow” on the roof! Pleased to see that I am not the only one slightly getting into advanced years, and that you do not have an ageism policy as so many other forums have!

So on to my car, well I have the ex factory/ uk importer car, I bought it direct from them several years ago, and as it was only bought as a toy, it now only has 47,000 miles on the clock, and still on the original engine!

The car get’s modified each and every time a component dies on me through old age rather than being worn out. So Black Diamond brakes all round, full exhaust system manifold back and “hot brick converter”, ending up in a Racing Beat twin pipe outlet. Up rated clutch, and a few other things!

This car now only sees track days, and is therefore fully caged, and my goal is to get to SPA for next year. The ring, well I have done that just once to often now and no longer has the appeal that it used to have.

Hope to catch up with as many of you as possible. :cheers

Cheers

Laurenzo

Well lets hope I have got this worked out. The photo was taken at Brands on a very manic event. I will post others later.

Hi Laurenzo, Welcome to MRC,

Good to see your car on track and it should interest you to know that we will have some (hopefully) Mazda only track-day events organised and sponsored for Full Members by MRC coming up,

Hi Clive, thanks for the welcome, and yes I would be interested in any track days that you might have in the pipe line.

It will be my intention to come a full member as soon as possible, but just thought that I would test the water first as to speak to find out if you are a friendly bunch? So far so good!

Had you just overtaken the Atom!? :D

CharlieP, I wish, I did say that was a manic event, that Atom belonged to a school for racing drivers, and boy were they giving it some, there was also a GT3 there testing that day! The event was stopped by Brands Hatch Ltd twice to try and get the event under control.

The RX put in some very respectable times, but she did have to break out in a sweat! Oh, and so did the driver:Giggle

I did the Mazda event at Bovington this year, and the Atom there was no match for the RX as I showed it a clean pair of heals, (one all) and that was another manic event with two cars rolling and being written off!!

Mind you I suspect if you are a driver of an Atom the last thing you want to do is to roll it!

So a question, do any of you do track days? I met one guy at Goodwood, and one at Bovington, but that is all.
