Would anyone happen to know how much one would have cost brand new back in say 1993??
any ideas?
£38k approx
Does anyone know how much an FC was back in the day lol
they were very very expensive cars in their day which is why they didn\'t sell many in the UK and another reason they are so rare!!
thanks for the reply\'s guys.. wooor 38k back in 93 thats a sheeet load of dosh.. i bought my first house in 93 for 30k 3 bed semi...
thanks tho guys its solved a little dispute me and a friend was having.. i must admit i really under valued the car.. i thought about 18- 20k back in 93.. how wrong was I :)
i will feel all posh next time i sit in my rex :driving
Still have the original reciept from when my UK car was bought on 1st August 1992 :) was bought for £37,995.00 :D
38k?? holy poop. how much was a porker 993 turbo new back then?
When the FD RX7 first came out it was £35,000.00
Then they dropped the price to £28,000.00 and gave a refund to those who complained had paid the higher price. after a short term it went back up again to £35,000.00 then eventually to around £38,000.00 for later ones up to the mid 90\'s.
FC\'s were around £20,000.00 for late 89 to 91 turbo11.
Fluctuating Yen accounts for jumps in price, but also showroom price could be haggled, just like today so not everyone paid the showroom figures.

i got an autocar mag from back in the days where they test drove the fd lol
n i got a mazda promo vid tape i kept since i was young, trying to persuade my dad to get a fd when i was about 13 years of age lol
got the receipt for the FC 1991 £22500
damm. I remember ont he top gear review of the EGi they priced it as 15k. And that was back in 86! In all fairness they are very good cars. I have a yet to find another car to rival the standard seating position and feel of an fc
The RX7s were sold as an equivilent to the top of the range Porsche of the day, the FC would have been up against the 944 and the FD would be up against a 911 :)
top gear did the EGi vs the 924. EGi killed it :D
i remember reading somewhere £32k new cant remember where, i suppose prices will vary depending on where you got them from and which year etc

And I think they listed the engine as a 2.4 rather than a 1.3 to make it look like the engine sized matched and it was a \'fair\' comparison:rollin
The 1993 I bought, base model was listed for $32,763.00 dollars US.

Anyone know the exchange rate back in the day, that sounds like a bargain.
