Post by: Mazzyrx7 on April 27, 2004, 09:48:58 AM
Hi Dave

Saw you going up marlow hill in Wycombe this morning. Your car looks fantastic. I see your car around quite a bit (not difficult to spot or hear) I had my music up loud but still heard it :). Your car even drowns out the noise from my full decated impreza.

Anyway just had to post some thing up.

Sweet looking motor.

yeah that was me on the way to work in Marlow, that hills a pain in the ass sometimes !

I\'d love to be able to put my foot down but can\'t yet :(

Did you recognise the car from the pic or something ?
Where abouts are you ?

Actually Tom just realised you are in Cressex estate, I used to work on that estate up until a couple of weeks ago

Hi Dave

Yeah I do work on the Cressex Estate. How did you know that?
Do I know you? As how did you know my name and where I work. I can\'t see it on here any ware(Or am I just being stupid) :)

I have been on this forum for quite a while reading up on the RX7\'s as I was going to get one. I saw the car down at the Wendover Arms some time ago and had a little look and then just sort of put two and two together.
The pic of the car on your profile did help a little bit.

Hi mate

No I don\'t know you, but its scary how much people can find out isn\'t it :)

Still looking at getting one ?

HA HA

I was thinking to myself. If I did know you I would have defiantly known about your car. Oh well that\'s put my mind at rest. The reason I asked if you knew me, is that I know someone called Dave who works on the estate. But I don\'t see him to often, so I don\'t know what he\'s up to most of the time.

I was really seriously looking into getting an RX7, but then when I phoned up the insurance company (Tesco\'s) they said "no" they wouldn\'t insure me. I have got my insurance with Tesco at the moment and when I got the impreza, I also asked if they would insure me on an RX7 which they said yes to. But 1 year later there\'s no chance. Oh well that\'s insurance companies for you.

I\'m not to bothered as, I just got my renewal quote yesterday on my impreza turbo and the was £700 a annum and last year I was paying £1100. So that was good. Not bad for a 20 year old hey :)

But I will be getting an RX7 @ some point. I think there excellent cars.

Oh and when you sometimes go past my house can you be a bit more quiet please. That exhaust system is bloody loud. :)

yeah Tesco have recently changed their policy and I think its minimum age 23 or 25 for Rx-7\'s etc
I didn\'t join them too long ago so hopefully at renewal time they\'ll still want to insure me :)

You\'ve got to get one mate ! mightt ake a while to find insurance at your ages but its possible I suppose

Take Care

I will defiantly be getting one! I may try a traders policy, so I can drive any car I wish. Also thinking about getting one for track days and then trailering it over to the track.

Anyway I expect I will see you around at sometime or another and when you have run your engine it maybe you can show how good an RX 7 really is.

I drive a Dark blue impreza with 18" Oz rims on it.

Hi Guys, too add a seriuos note for the attention of mazzy, be carefull with trade policies, if you have an accident they may ask to see your books to prove you are actually a trader, if you dont have have any, they dont pay out. Be carefull!

If you are "trading from home" then presumeably you wouldn\'t have any books anyway though

You would still need to prove you are buying and selling cars, invoices etc etc. I only say because it happened to a friend of mine, fortunately for him it was very minor damage, if you wrote the car off thats a different story. We all know what insurance companies are like, if they can get out of paying they will. Just trying to save any future problems.

hmm I don\'t really know aything more about it so won\'t comment further

I know of a few people with these policies and they seem ok, although I see your point about it. They\'ll try anything to get out of paying :)
