Will be sticking with twins running in parrellel (sp) for now, but I\'m toying with the idea of porting.
I would give it a go myself, but don\'t want to bugger things up.
Would I notice much difference with twins and porting?
Here\'s the spec:
HKS Twin Air Filters
Air Pump Removed
Blitz Dump Valve
APL Intercooler
Aeromotive FPR
Walbro Fuel Pump
4 x 850cc Denso Injectors
Full Non Sequential Turbo Conversion
HKS Downpipe
3" exhaust system
Apexi Power FC Commander
Also, how much would a garage take to do the porting? (engine is already apart, etc)
well i guess seeing as the engine is apart you have the option of sending it wherever you want!and they send it back to ya :-)
loads of companys/people do it! i\'ve heard of someone called oldone/era i think??... is one of the gods out there!
Here is the thing with porting, you could do it your self its not particularly Hard but you have to do some reading up about it first, Need the gear (decent compressor, Die Grinder and Cones/Burs) and buying a Porting template.
BUT!! IMHO the best way is to get a Pro to do it for you because if you don\'t have the gear handy it could cost you as much in the gear to do the job, then you may mess up a plate (easily done if you slip)
I think there are a few out there that could do it for you but if you want my opinion
oldone\'s -MAZDA -Rotary Porting Services & Engine Building. 07512678137 01256 396968 ;)
Cool...
Any idea of cost?
I would go with half bridge etc, but tbh it\'s a bit over kill for stock twins.
So a nice large streetport would do the job.
Streetport/extended streetport is usually a few hundred, bridge will be more as more material will need to be taken out
+1 for the oldone, seen his work, he rocks.
Im luving my oldone engine :D, HB will kill your twins , go streetport for twins,or big street port for a single
gotta say his work and dedication is second to non :yes :D
