Title: Wiring in Innovate Wideband to stock O2 sensor
Post by: gonzoninja on August 11, 2009, 08:23:00 PM
My Stock O2 sensor has broken. Well the wire that goes to it has snapped at the point where it joins the body of the sensor. I did try soldering it back on, but it didn\'t work very well.

Anyway, I have an Innovate wideband sensor as well, can I take the narrow band wire from this and just solder it straight to the sensor wire of the old stock O2 sensor?

I would wire it into the ECU, but I\'m sure I\'d splice it into the wrong wire or something

i dont think this would work bud. replacement o2 sensors are cheap enough at about £30-60.

what ecu are you running.

the stock o2 isnt essential anyway only low revs.

You can use the innovate \'narrowband\' signal to feed the stock ecu, but some folk have had mixed results with it.  The narrow band output is a 0-1V output with a rapid swing just around the stoich point, but its still not as steep as a real sensor, so you may find the response in the loop a little sluggish.

For £17 you can get a brand new narrow band 1 wire.
