Stunning example and hats off to Dabba for all his work - great purchase and car you have there #;o)
Always loved this car, even got the privilage to help Chris work on her before, she looks even more stunning in the flesh. Take care of her bud, she deserves a lot of love!
hands down one of the best FDs ever!
Agreed, Chris put alot of time & effort in to this car, When I first saw it it was yellow & I thought it looked hidious!!! but once the candy paint work fell on to the body I loved it!! Colour can totaly change the look of a car! Take care of her matey she\'s a stunner ;)
Jono
Welcome to MRC! As above, really, you\'ve wangled one of the most pampered FDs in the country there, I reckon! You couldn\'t have bought one further away could you? Must have been a baptism of fire driving it from the North East to Somerset at not much to the gallon :D
Evening all ;)
Glad to see the car is looking shiney and well cared for! Many thanks as ever for the comments guys. I prefer it with the Dobba plate on though, lol!
Im sure youll have many years of joy Pav.
Any thoughts on future mods?
BTW project Porsche 964 is getting well underway :)
Chris
Absolutely stunning looking RX. You\'ve definitely got one of the best out there :Thumbs-up

I definately agree, the colour choice was both classy and unique, people come up to me on my street as they walk by just to tell me how beautiful it looks! Its quite a system shock owning it. I will take care indeed. The last owner hasnt been very good to the lacquer topcoat, its covered with swirls :(. I have a friend who is able to cut it back carefully and correct it all, should be getting that sorted within the next few weeks!

Lol, a baptism of fire now theres a vision. My mate drove me up in his Q7, on the way back he said it spit numerous flames coming off throttle between changes. :InLove
I felt it was well worth the long drive to get it. I did that trip twice too, one to view it and one to collect! It made it back using only about £45 which I thought was quite reasonable. On short journeys though it does guzzle!

Hey Chris, oooh future mods! Well I\'ve already put some Hids on (that was a must) and I\'ve bought an uprated air temp sensor for future mapping. Im also thinking about getting a Vmount kit of some sort. My intake temps are very high at the moment which is a concern. I\'ve given the Hks elements a good clean as well as had the tracking sorted as the last owner didnt have it done after fitting a set of new Tein super streets (which are uber comfy!).
I eventually plan on bigger secondary injectors, fuel rail, Fpr, Fuel pump and a remap on the stock twins. Im tempted to convert to non-sequential to get rid of that lag on switchover, but its so nice having torque so low down in the revs, great on the motorway in 5th or cruising up a hill!
Good luck with the Porsche too man, looks great from the avatar!
Did the guy in S....horpe that I sold it to just run out of funds then guv? Seems a shame he let it go after only 3 months or so, but you look like you\'re going to take good care of her:) one tip is to use brasso wadding to shine those wheel rims. Any other info you need just hola!
Chris
one of the best examples in the country made better by the rarity of the kit and colour. great to see it being appreciated and not abused.

Yeah live in Taunton. Maybe a sunday or a decent evening drop us an email mj.webb@btconnect.com and we`ll sort something out.

Well I dont think it was the funds that were the problem, he relied on garages to do the mechanical work and I dont think paid much attention to the rest :(. Hes after an S15 now as he changes his cars every few months it seems (his jap car ownership history sounded long from what he said). Brasso wadding eh? Im gonna go see if I can find some, funny how you noticed the wheels arent as shiny in the current pics, they\'ve been neglected too :(.

Next time i\'m out I might pop in and say hi!
Oh nice! I was soo tempted to go and have a look at that, is it still for sale or are you the new owner?
It\'s still for sale but have a buyer who is going to take it when his car is sold. Finding it hard not to change my mind and keep it - but a Noble M12 GTO is replacing it :-)

Hmm I did worry about that when I sold it, he seemed a bit "green" asking all sorts of "basic" questions even though he mentioned he\'d owned a \'7 before. Still, at least its gone to a good home now!
With regard to wheel cleaning ive tried all sorts (autoglym, Megs metal polish, wonder wheels etc) and the best value for money is the old skool Brasso. Im just about to refurb a set of rare splittys for my Porsche and i\'ll be using the same.
Have fun! :)

Sorry to hijack the thread but just wanted to know how the new car compares to the RX7?
As a young kid I had a few dream cars that I wanted to one day own, RX7 FD was one, Porsche 911 1988/1990 shape and a TVR Tuscan.
Love the RX7 just wondering if you regret getting the porsche?
Cheers

How do bud,
My Porsche is the 911 (964) that was produced between 1989 and 1994, so slightly out on your ideal model (but not by too much!).
Im having great fun with Porsche ownership and after 4 1/2 years of owning the RX7 its nice to have a change. The \'7 was that good that I kept her for so long (I normally sell up before three years is out), however I just fancied the change :)
I dont have any regrets so far. I appreciate that I wont be able to do the same level of DIY with the new car as oppose to the \'7 (not sure if I would want to!) to keep the FSH intact. Parts will be a few more quid too, but there are a good few specialists and breakers.
The new motor feels a lot more solid on the road. The build quality seems better. It was the last of the truly hand-built Porsches (with hand finishing times halving for the 993 model). The suspension is more forgiving. I havent fitted coilovers yet (just lowered) so this may change! The steering feels a lot more to my style and not as point a shoot as the RX7. Brakes are about the same as a standard RX7. I feel an upgrade coming on to match my old Project Mu set-up.
Im planning a few simple mods to clean up the look and get the car to how I want it. Not too many though, as I dont want to spoil the lines of the car!
Any questions just fire them over. Im not as active on the forum as I was, but I still keep a beady eye out :)
Chris
