Hi guys
 
I broke my wind mirror today cracked the glass. Can i replace just the glass or do i need a hole new mirror. Does anybody no where i can get the parts from ????

hi,
if your mirror is still broken is there any chance that you could take a picture of the wing mirror inside with the glass removed so i could see if there is any space to fit a camera in the bottom so it is facing the ground. i need roughly 2.5cm space inside.

which side mate? i bought a new mirror as the outside plastic was slightly cracked on my original and it annoyed me, obviously had to buy a whole new mirror unit to replace, might be able to sort you out

Yes you can replace just the glass.  The shop manual will point out the steps necessary.  My guess is you would buy the glass from Mazda.

ive got the passenger side mate....20 quid for it all? dont really want to split as theres not a whole lot i can do with the casing! I can come meet you somewhere as well seeing as youre local :)

I\'ll have to get it resprayed but is it in good nick, no chunks missing or scores marks, working etc. If so then yes I would be interested.

yeah 22.50 for the one either side- i have two sets here or £30 for the pair. all in good condition.

Maybe a little late, but rotaryart do replacement mirror glass for the wing mirrors. They are glued on to the black plastic. The black plastic is a backing that comes round the edges of the glass mirror.

To dismantle a wing mirror, you need to remove the glass, I have yet to do this with out actually breaking the glass, then in the middle of the black plastic housing (for the glass) there is a little screw, you undo this, which will release the backing housing, after you have unclipped the 2 white worms that allow the electric motor to adjust the mirror position. If you pull the worms out the motor housing dont worry as they can be refitted into the housing (take housing apart and push back into place - obv after taking the worms off the black plastic housing).

Dark night, there is very limited space but I think you may just have enough space behind the glass/electric motor housing/brackets, but you\'re looking at the space right near the front of the wing mirror itself, rather than directly underneath. Had I seen this thread earlier I would have taken pictures for you. Personally I would want something that would only accomodate something about half the size you want.

still got mine if you are still in need mate, it is chaste white but has slight crack on the casing. can get a pic if you need. cheers steve
