Title: After market fuel pump strainer?
Post by: leeroy_25 on August 10, 2009, 01:54:41 PM
hi Guy\'s I am fitting a larger fuel pump to my FD3 for single turbo and was wondering if I need to use a fuel strainer? Ideally I would like to but the pump going in has a 15mm OD on the inlet side and I cannot find a strainer big enough? I was considering cutting the end off the stock one and using a cable tie or jubilee clip to hold it in place but I think the strainer is a bit too rigid to do this?
The new pump does have a filter built in side the inlet but I am a little concerned this could block up.

can anyone make a suggestion if I am worrying over nothing and can run without or if there is somewhere I can get a larger holed strainer or what I can make one from?

Thank you
Lee
